Ga-Rankuwa Industrial Forum

As explained the Tshwane Business Forum (TBF), and in particular the Capital City Business Chamber (CCBC) as an affiliate of the TBF, embarked on a process to:
a) grow the economy of Ga-Rankuwa;
b) to create a platform for stakeholders to meet and…
c) to promote opportunities for all within the area.
The first Workshop Session was held on Wednesday 24 May at Jurgens CI (For your information, see e-mail below for feedback with associated attachments). Representatives present, of amongst others the City of Tshwane, the North West Development Corporation, the Gauteng Provincial Department for Economic Development, Training Institutes, Business and other.

As a Business Owner operating within Ga-Rankuwa we invite you, BB Cement to become a part of this initiative. Please confirm which of the Task Teams you would like to be part of? (attached)

You identified several areas of challenge to your day-to-day operations: road maintenance, security, etc. The proposed establishment of a City Improvement District (CID)/Special Rating Area (SRA) for Ga-Rankuwa, can and will go a long way to address such issues in area, inclusive of Safety and Security, maintenance and upgrade, as well as the promotion of Ga-Rankuwa.

Furthermore, as per the City of Tshwane (CoT) Region 1 Profile and IDP documents (attached) it is clear that for the CoT, Region 1, and in particular Ga-Rankuwa, is one of the priority areas for economic growth and job creation. In its IDP priorities the CoT committed to focus on storm water and drainage, street lights, the replacement of sewer networks, and the upgrade of roads. We also know that the current CoT administration is under a lot of pressure to address all the challenges and have clearly committed itself to form partnerships - especially with business - to address these challenges. The proposed formation of a CID/SRA will definitely send a strong message to the CoT that Business is willing to take hands.

So that we may better understand your, (BB Cement) business - especially in regards to our ongoing discussions/negotiations with the CoT on behalf of business collectively within Ga-Rankuwa -
